Perch ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and your family's data. This Privacy Policy explains how our iOS and macOS applications collect, use, and safeguard your information.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Stored Locally

The following data is stored exclusively on your devices and synchronized through YOUR personal iCloud account:

• Location Data: Child device location is tracked and synced to the parent's device via CloudKit (your iCloud).
• Safety Alerts: When the local AI detects a potential threat in text messages, an encrypted alert is stored in your CloudKit container.
• Device Status: Battery level and last-seen timestamps.

1.2 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT read your messages on our servers.
• We do NOT store your location on our servers.
• We do NOT have access to your iCloud data.
• We do NOT sell or share any data with third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

All processing happens locally on your devices:

• Message Analysis: Performed entirely on your Mac using on-device AI (no internet required).
• Location Tracking: Synced directly between family devices via your iCloud.
• Content Filtering: URLs are checked against a local blocklist on the child's device.

3. Data Storage & Security

• All data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service.
• Sensitive message snippets are encrypted using AES-256-GCM before storage.
• Encryption keys are stored in Apple's Secure Enclave on your device.
• We cannot decrypt your data—only devices with the shared family key can.

4. Third-Party Services

Perch uses the following third-party services:

• RevenueCat: For subscription management. RevenueCat receives anonymized purchase data from Apple. See RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
• Apple CloudKit: For data synchronization within your family. See Apple Privacy Policy.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Perch is designed for families. The app is installed on children's devices by parents/guardians.

• We do not collect personal information directly from children.
• All data collection is controlled by the parent through the app.
• Parents can delete all collected data at any time by removing the app.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all data stored in your CloudKit container.
• Delete: Remove all data by uninstalling the app and clearing iCloud storage.
• Portability: Export your data from iCloud at any time.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
