Welcome to KidBase ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of you and your family. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our KidBase mobile application (the "App").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you use KidBase, you may provide us with the following types of information:

Child Information:

- Child's name

- Date of birth

- Gender

- Photos

- Health information (vaccinations, medications, symptoms, temperature)

- Growth data (height, weight, head circumference)

- Daily activity logs (sleep, feeding, diaper changes)

- Mood and behavioral notes

- Developmental milestones

Caregiver Information:

- Emergency contact names and phone numbers

- Care instructions and routines

- House rules and preferences

Account Information:

- Apple ID (for iCloud sync and purchases)

Information Collected Automatically

We do not collect any analytics, tracking data, or usage statistics. The App does not contain any third-party analytics SDKs or advertising frameworks.

How Your Data Is Stored

Local Storage

All data you enter into KidBase is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure data storage frameworks.

iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service. This allows you to:

- Sync data across your Apple devices

- Share data with family members you invite

- Back up your data automatically

Important: We do not have access to your iCloud data. Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is protected by Apple's security measures and your Apple ID credentials.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide solely to:

- Display and organize your child's care information within the App

- Sync data across your devices via iCloud (if enabled)

- Enable family sharing features (if you choose to invite family members)

- Generate care summary exports for babysitters and caregivers

We do NOT use your information to:

- Send you marketing communications

- Display advertisements

- Build user profiles

- Sell or share with third parties

- Train machine learning models

- Conduct analytics or tracking

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Ever.

Family Sharing

If you use the family sharing feature, data you choose to share will be accessible to family members you explicitly invite via iCloud sharing.

Babysitter Exports

When you create a babysitter care sheet, the exported PDF is generated locally on your device. You control how and with whom you share this document.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).

Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously:

- Encryption in Transit: All data synced via iCloud uses Apple's encrypted connections (TLS/SSL)

- Encryption at Rest: Data stored in iCloud is encrypted using Apple's security infrastructure

- Local Security: Data stored on your device is protected by your device's passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID

- No Server Access: We do not operate servers that store your data; all data remains within Apple's ecosystem

Children's Privacy

KidBase is designed for parents and caregivers to track information about their children. The App is not intended to be used directly by children.

Important Notes:

- Only parents or legal guardians should enter information about children

- We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13

- All child data is controlled entirely by the parent/guardian who enters it

- Child data is stored only on your device and your private iCloud account

Your Rights and Choices

Access and Control

You have complete control over your data:

- View: All data is visible within the App at any time

- Edit: You can modify any information you've entered

- Delete: You can delete individual records or entire child profiles

- Export: You can export care summaries as PDFs

Data Deletion

To delete all your KidBase data:

1. Delete from Device: Delete individual children or records within the App, or delete the App entirely

2. Delete from iCloud: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > KidBase > Delete Data

Opt-Out of iCloud Sync

You can use KidBase without iCloud sync. Data will be stored only on your local device. To disable:

1. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud

2. Turn off KidBase

Third-Party Services

Apple Services

KidBase integrates with the following Apple services:

- iCloud/CloudKit: For data sync and backup (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)

- StoreKit: For in-app purchases (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)

No Other Third Parties

We do not integrate with any other third-party services, analytics providers, or advertising networks.

In-App Purchases

KidBase offers a one-time premium upgrade. Purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy

- Displaying a notice within the App for significant changes

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as you choose to keep it:

- Local Data: Remains on your device until you delete it or the App

- iCloud Data: Remains in your iCloud account until you delete it

- We Do Not Retain Data: Since we don't have servers storing your data, there is no data retention on our end

International Users

KidBase is available worldwide. Your data is stored:

- Locally on your device

- In your iCloud account (in data centers determined by Apple based on your region)

We do not transfer your data to our own servers in any jurisdiction.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

- Know what personal information is collected

- Know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed

- Say no to the sale of personal information

- Access your personal information

- Request deletion of your personal information

- Equal service and price, even if you exercise your privacy rights

To exercise these rights: Since all data is stored locally on your device and in your private iCloud account, you can exercise these rights directly through the App and your device settings.
